CCDASA Land Acknowledgement

The Childcare Directors Association of Southwest Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we live, work, and gather on the traditional and ancestral territory of the peoples of Treaty Seven: the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations; and the Stoney Nakoda. We also recognize the Métis Nation of Alberta, Foothills District 1, Otipemisiwak Métis Nation of Alberta whose footsteps have also shaped this land.
We honour the land, the plants, the animals, the waters, and all of Creation that continue to sustain us. We give gratitude for the teachings and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples, who have cared for this place since time immemorial.
As leaders in early learning and child care, we commit to fostering environments rooted in respect, learning, and reconciliation for the children, families, and communities we serve.
